The Yambo Developers Team contributed to the 2026 ACM Asian School on High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence at Riken R-CCS Kobe, Japan from January 30 to February 3 2026.
The school gathered students and researchers for advanced training in HPC and Artificial Intelligence.
In the Materials Science Track, Lectures and hands-on tutorials introduced participants to eigenvalue solvers, many-body perturbation theory and excited-state simulations using the YAMBO code. The sessions covered quasiparticle corrections through the GW method and optical spectra including excitonic effects via the Bethe–Salpeter equation, providing participants with both theoretical background and practical experience.

The event concluded with a visit to the Fugaku supercomputer at RIKEN, offering participants direct exposure to one of the world’s leading HPC infrastructures.

The Yambo team warmly thanks the organizers, sponsors, and participants for contributing to a stimulating and successful training event, reinforcing the collaboration between method development, HPC, and the user community.
