hi,

wish 2 all,

can any body tell me a good book where detailed analysis of optical properties is given.

Like in many books, we found that a lot of theory has provided with published results and directly they have written results. Please suggest any book on optical properties where in addition to the theory we can have the interpolation of graphs/output results.

Like , this is real dielectric constant. The peak in maxima correspond to band gap.

I dont know, it may be a foolish discussion on this forum  but the please suggest.

thanks
dev

Dear devsharma

honestly I don't know a good book about optics,

you can try with these ones:

Semiconductor Optics and Transport Phenomena
Schäfer, Wilfried, Wegener, Martin
Springer

and about the relation between dielectric constant, polarizability, etc....

Electrodynamics of Solids: Optical Properties of Electrons in Matter
Martin Dressel , George Grüner
Cambridge University Press

finally have a look to the lecture notes we put in the Yambo webpage:
http://www.yambo-code.org/lectures.php

and on FreeScience.info (spectroscopy section):
