Hi everyone,

Is there a way to calculate the phonon-assisted PL for circularly polarized light?

Dear Rishabh,

In principle, the luminescence spectrum should be averaged over the photon polarization directions.

However, if you want to isolate the contribution of a specific outgoing polarization, I think you can perform a yambo BSE calculation with circularly polarized light, and then calculate the phonon-assisted emission using the projected exciton dipoles that you obtained from the BSE.

The procedure is the same as outlined in this tutorial, but when calling the `exc_ph_luminescence` function, the argument `exc_dipoles` should be the projected dipoles from the BSE database (read with YamboDipolesDB) and not those coming from the `exc_ph_get_inputs` function, which are unpolarized.

Best,
Fulvio
