Quasiparticle width and lifetimes

You can find here problems arising when using old releases of Yambo (< 5.0). Issues as parallelization strategy, performance issues and other technical aspects.

Quasiparticle width and lifetimes

Post by sdwang » Mon Jun 28, 2021 2:04 pm

Dear developers,
I found in the example 'electron-phonon coupling' of yambo wiki page, the last column of output o.qp is the width of the quasiparticle which is also can be transferred into lifetime. My question is what the difference of the lifetime here compared with the results from DFPT? (just the bare and the dressed particles or any others?)
Thanks!

Dear Shudong

I don't understand very well your question, how do you obtain the lifetime directly from DFTP?

the life-time calculated by Yambo, is described in this paper:
https://journals.aps.org/prb/abstract/1 ... .89.085202
